The Kingdom Hotel
The Kingdom is a modern-day tribute to the ancient and alluring Africa. Great billowing domes, pillars and bridges built on a man-made lake, mark a style that belies the modern facilities within. The decor is full of character and forms part of the hotel’s persona. This hotel is the closest hotel to the mighty Victoria Falls and is the perfect family destination.

There are 294 rooms (70 with bunk beds), three restaurants, four swimming pools and four bars. Located only a few minutes’ walk from Victoria Falls  town and the national park entrance, this popular hotel is perfect for travellers wanting convenience and good value. Experience the essence of Africa in all the splendour and opulence of The Kingdom at Victoria Falls.

Day 2: Victoria Falls
After breakfast you join an informative guided tour of Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side. Accompanied through the rainforest by a qualified guide you hear a brief history of the falls as well as information on the flora and fauna and other points of interest.

Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. The local people call it ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’- the smoke that thunders. There is a magic about the falls manifested in the towering column of spray when the river is high. Victoria Falls is 1,708 metres wide, making it the largest curtain of water in the world. It drops between 90m and 107m into the Zambezi Gorge and an average of 550,000 cubic metres of water plummet over the edge every minute. Remarkably preserved in its natural state, Victoria Falls inspires visitors as much today as it did David Livingstone in the 1860s. The falls and the surrounding area have been declared a national park and a World Heritage Site.

You return to the lodge around 11:00am. There is time in the afternoon to relax or enjoy an optional excursion. This evening at about 7.00 pm you are transferred to The Boma restaurant for dinner. This barbeque style restaurant is a popular award-winning restaurant which includes a selection of traditional foods and a performance by the local Ndebele people, whose song and dance tell the folklore of the region during a colourful and energetic show. The Kingdom Hotel (BD).

Day 3: Victoria Falls
Today is at leisure to relax or enjoy an optional excursion (additional cost). Victoria Falls has become a mecca for travellers who enjoy the great outdoors. Extreme adventurers can enjoy bungee jumping, zip lining, white water rafting and a swing over an adjacent valley. Culture buffs can join informative visits to a nearby township, rural village or enjoy lunch with a local family. Sightseeing offers incredible views of the falls, with scenic helicopter and micro light flights both popular. Wildlife can be viewed in ‘big five’ private game reserves, or in the Zambezi National Park on game drives, canoe safaris and in the form of animal interactions The Kingdom Hotel (B).
